James Edward Wiley
James Edward Wiley, 81, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006.
James was born Feb. 6, 1925, in Fort Worth to Ernest and Ethel Wiley. He served his country in World War II and was captured by the German army in the Battle of the Bulge. He successfully escaped his captors and came home to marry the love of his life, Doris Jo Sladovnik, on June 14, 1946. This love lasted 60 years and five months to the day. Of their many accomplishments, James and Doris not only owned their own business but James also retired from Bell Helicopter in 1986 after 23 years of service. He was a great lover of his family, whom he called his "flowers," and was devoted to them. He loved his Lord with all his heart and is now resting from his battle with pancreatic cancer. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors: Wife, Doris Wiley; son, Pastor Mike Wiley and wife, Candi; grandchildren, Derek Wiley and wife, Jimmie, and Kim Brabson and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Luke Wiley and Lauren and Livia Brabson, all of Weatherford; sister, Effie Mae Harrison of Oklahoma; numerous nephews and nieces; and many, many friends.
